Rising Above Cancer

Gentle nervous system support at diagnosis, during treatment and beyond

I help people take back their power and rise above cancer.

Two people seen from behind standing outdoors, one with arm around the other, both wearing white T-shirts with a logo and the words "Rising Above Cancer" and "Mind Medicine Movement" on back, with cloudy sky and trees in the background.

You are not imagining this

Cancer changes more than your body.

Appointments, scans, waiting rooms and uncertainty can send the nervous system into survival mode.

Fear can remain long after treatment ends.

You may notice:

  • Anxiety before appointments

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Fear of reoccurrence

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself

  • Exhaustion that goes beyond the physical

Nothing is wrong with you.

I understand this personally. I have experienced three cancer diagnoses myself and I know how easy it is to lose your sense of safety, identity and steadiness during that time.

Rising Above Cancer™ was created from that lived experience, alongisde science-informed, trauma aware practices that can help people feel calmer, more supported and more connected to themselves again.

  • “Sarah helped me stay calm in the eye of the storm during one of the hardest periods of my life. Through meditation, visualisation and honest conversation, I slowly reconnected with my body and found steadiness again. I will always be grateful for her gentle support.”

Cancer activates survival responses in the body.

When the nervous system remains in fight, flight or freeze for long periods, it can affect:

• Sleep
• Digestion
• Immune function
• Emotional resilience
• Your ability to feel safe in your own body

This work supports the body alongside medical care, helping your system move from constant survival into greater steadiness and regulation.

Calm is not a luxury during cancer.
It is an important part of healing.

Why the Nervous System Matters

Two women are sitting on a black cushioned bench, smiling and interacting with each other in a cozy indoor setting. The woman on the left has short gray hair, is wearing a multicolored patterned blouse, and is holding a cup while using chopsticks. The woman on the right has short blonde hair, is wearing a bright green sweater, and holds a Christmas-themed mug. The background has a beige wall with a large gold picture frame and a cushion with a Union Jack design on the bench.
